I intend on calling them up and bitching them out big time for that list take your car to the dealership they said. Broken hood latch, cable assembly - the rear plastic 'catch'

Broken driver side plastic support area that holds the A/C condensing unit to the radiator Missing the 'bitch' nut on the cat to turbo (you can see exhaust leakage on the gasket) Broken guide tab on passenger side for the front bumper/facia Broken driver side air deflector housing tab the deflector that sits on top of the aluminum crash support bar Missing bolts on the Turbo's oil return line bracket Missing 1 wheel well lower skirt/shield bolt Missing the 10mm bolt that holds the coils connector harness on top of the motor I 'thought' they did a good job but after digging into the motor here are the following parts I've noticed broken or missing since they did the piston replacement: One of the reasons I always go to Capilano for work.Since you guys are on dealership topics, I guess I should nail mine to the cross. He responded that they prefer to avoid a potentially big problem down the road. I noticed the parts when reviewing the stage 2 invoice and asked my SA about it. In fact they didn't even mention they had done it. My dealer, Capilano Audi, changed the tensioner and upper guide no charge. A few of us have had it replaced no charge, some were advised to do it but for the regular cost, and for many others it was ignored. It seems it's up to dealer whether or not any action is taken on the tensioner during stage 2. Something like send me $200 PP take as long as you want and when you return it, as long as none are damaged or completely chewed up, I'll refund like $150 back or something (shipping would be included within that price). Actually, once I'm done with my car, I was thinking about doing a loaner program to you guys here. I used to live in the states so I got the car there then had to go through an import process. I'm actually a dual citizen (US/CDN) currently live in Canada but work in the states. All cars are similar in one way or another, you just have to know where to look really. Yeah, not too bad for not having a book and never dug into this car before however, I have a lot of automotive knowledge and experience. Wow, what a thread, love it! Also, yes thanks for clarifying, I wasn't talking about the front chain cover, but rather the cam bridge, which if you're going into the head, you'll be removing as well :)Thanks.

Ok, so just to clarify, you have a US car, or you just did a mileage conversion? I'm trying to determine whether you're at 110k miles or KM.Īlso, when you do end up getting all of the tools and all of the parts plus specialty tools, can you post them up here? I have a K04 sitting waiting for install, but I think I'm going to pre-emptively perform this service just for peace of mind before I begin to push the engine to more output. Thanks for posting all the reference links. Wow man, you are THE MAN! What a thread, and damn do you work fast. Personally, I'd rather them come out with the IM, I can then manage to collect the fuel instead of it draining everywhere. I ended up wrapping a tow strap around the manifold in different areas, leaning on the side of the car and yanking in different successions to pop the IM off the fuel injector O-rings. I came to the conclusion that it had to be the injector o-rings holding onto it for dear life (well, it was only off once around 65k miles when I had the pistons swapped per the oil consumption issue). Even came on here and looked at a few DIY threads when guys have taken off their IM I didn't miss anything. I prolly wasted 30-40 mins trying to figure out a way to pop the manifold off because it didn't move! Well, it wiggled a bit but that was about it. Keep up the good work man, looks like things are going wellMan, funny you bring up the injectors. Ah wtf, did all your injectors remain in the engine when you removed the manifold? mine always come out.
