Ok, so just to clarify, you have a US car, or you just did a mileage conversion? I'm trying to determine whether you're at 110k miles or KM.Īlso, when you do end up getting all of the tools and all of the parts plus specialty tools, can you post them up here? I have a K04 sitting waiting for install, but I think I'm going to pre-emptively perform this service just for peace of mind before I begin to push the engine to more output. Personally, I'd rather them come out with the IM, I can then manage to collect the fuel instead of it draining everywhere. I ended up wrapping a tow strap around the manifold in different areas, leaning on the side of the car and yanking in different successions to pop the IM off the fuel injector O-rings. I came to the conclusion that it had to be the injector o-rings holding onto it for dear life (well, it was only off once around 65k miles when I had the pistons swapped per the oil consumption issue). Even came on here and looked at a few DIY threads when guys have taken off their IM I didn't miss anything. I prolly wasted 30-40 mins trying to figure out a way to pop the manifold off because it didn't move! Well, it wiggled a bit but that was about it. Keep up the good work man, looks like things are going wellMan, funny you bring up the injectors. Ah wtf, did all your injectors remain in the engine when you removed the manifold? mine always come out.
